The Role
As Plant Controller, you will serve as the primary financial partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team, playing a critical role in guiding manufacturing performance, improving processes, and supporting profitable growth. What You’ll Do
- Act as a trusted business partner to site leadership, providing clear financial insights and recommendations
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Own the month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and internal controls for the plant
- Drive cost transparency and margin improvement through strong cost accounting practices
- Lead annual standard cost development
- Support manufacturing planning, S&OP, and operational decision-making
- Improve financial processes and strengthen internal controls in a complex organization
- Coach, train, and influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Promote a safe, environmentally responsible workplace

Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years in a manufacturing plant environment as a Cost Accountant or Plant Controller
- Strong cost accounting knowledge
- ERP system experience (SAP, QAD, Oracle, or similar)
- Proven ability to lead forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- CPA
- Corporate finance or operational analysis experience
- Temporary role covering an open position
- 100% onsite in Portage, WI (no remote or hybrid option)
- Manufacturing experience required
- Onsite interview required
- Local candidates strongly preferred
