Job Description:
Role & Responsibilities
Safety Program Development and Implementation
- Assist in creating and implementing site-specific safety programs.
- Develop and enhance safety procedures to reduce or eliminate risks.
- Analyze processes, behaviors, and incident trends to recommend improvements.
- Establish safety pre-planning meetings with project management and subcontractors.
Inspections and Compliance
- Inspect operations, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform daily inspections of machinery, tools, and premises to ensure safe operations.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure hazardous materials are stored appropriately.
Training and Leadership
- Provide safety training and orientations for new and current employees.
- Facilitate weekly toolbox talks, safety meetings, and monthly safety committee meetings.
- Develop and oversee a safety team, establishing roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct specialized training, including forklift operation, equipment use, and fit testing.
Incident Management and Reporting
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Write detailed reports on daily activities, inspections, and incidents.
- Report findings and corrective actions to the Safety Director or Manager as needed.
Culture and Communication
- Develop professional relationships with foremen, project managers, and production employees to promote a safety-driven culture.
- Communicate essential safety standards during walkthroughs and meetings.
- Act as a spokesperson for safety initiatives and lead by example.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related field preferred).
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing or construction safety role.
- BCSP Certification (CSP, OHST, or CHST) preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in manufacturing and construction industries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train, influence, and motivate others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new applications.
- Proven problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills.

Salary : $112,640 - $143,360
