What are the responsibilities and job description for the Domestic Violence Advocate position at HUMAN OPTIONS INC?
- Some college coursework in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, related field or commensurate work experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Successful completion of a vetting process with the Police Department; includes a thorough background investigation, required.
- One year of experience in counseling or professional client support position in a domestic violence agency and/or program setting preferred.
- Experience working with law enforcement.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Complete the 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate certification training post-hire.
Prospective employees must pass a background screening to the satisfaction of the agency prior to placement. Since background screenings take time to complete, applicants are encouraged to apply early.
