What are the responsibilities and job description for the Household Manager/Personal Assistant position at Hum Home?
You've been running homes with precision for years.
Now it's time to be recognized — and paid — for it.
If you're someone who finds satisfaction in a home that runs smoothly, who notices what needs to be done before being asked, and who takes pride in creating calm, order, and consistency, this role may feel like a natural fit.
For years, you've been the steady presence behind the scenes.
Managing daily resets. Keeping kitchens functional. Staying ahead of laundry, supplies, schedules, and logistics. Anticipating needs. Creating systems that make life easier for everyone in the home.
This is real, professional experience.
Now you get to bring it into a household that values it — and compensates you accordingly.
This is a long-term, full-time House Manager / Family Assistant role supporting a busy professional family based in Coconut Grove, Miami, with seasonal travel between Florida and Chicago.
A Day in the Life as Our House Manager
You arrive knowing the rhythm of the home.
You take a moment to assess the space — what needs resetting, what needs restocking, what needs attention today. You don't wait for instructions. You already know where to start.
The home reset begins:
- Kitchen tidied and restored
- Counters cleared, surfaces wiped
- Laundry moving from wash to fold to put away
- Bedrooms and living spaces returned to calm order
This work is familiar. Purposeful. Grounding.
It sets the tone for the entire household.
Once the reset is complete, you shift into household operations mode.
You track inventory, restock supplies proactively, and manage grocery orders and deliveries.
You handle dry cleaning, returns, vendor scheduling, and household logistics.
You prepare light, healthy meals or snacks so evenings feel easier for the family.
You assist with school-day routines when needed — organizing mornings, supporting drop-off or pick-up, and keeping schedules aligned.
When the family travels, you help prepare the home before departure and restore order upon return. You assist with packing, organizing, and ensuring the household is ready whether the family is in Miami, Chicago, or traveling elsewhere.
By the end of the day, the home feels settled.
Everything is handled.
The family feels supported — even if they never saw everything you did.
That's the impact of excellent household management.
