We’re seeking a PR & Communications Manager to lead our external and internal communications strategy and strengthen HVLG’s presence across media, tastemakers, and industry partners. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller who understands the intersection of design, lifestyle, and brand reputation.
You’ll manage public relations efforts, oversee press outreach, craft brand messaging, and build relationships with editors, stylists, and creators to position HVLG as a leader in the lighting and design industry.
What You’ll Do:
Public Relations & Media
- Develop and execute proactive PR strategies to drive press coverage across trade, lifestyle, and design outlets.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with editors, writers, and key media contacts.
- Pitch product launches, brand stories, and leadership features.
- Manage press releases, media kits, and sample requests.
- Track performance and ROI of campaigns.
Communications & Messaging
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across internal and external facing channels (PR, internal announcements, blog, etc.)
- Draft and edit press materials, thought leadership pieces, and brand announcements.
- Support internal executive communications as needed.
- Collaborate with marketing and social teams to identify and manage influencer and brand partnerships.
Events & Activations
- Support planning and execution of trade show events, media moments, and brand activations.
- Oversee event communications, including invites, press previews, and follow-up coverage.
- Travel to tradeshows and media moments as needed.
- Work with the Senior Brand Marketing Manager to recap event successes and learnings to present to leadership.
Measurement & Reporting
- Monitor media coverage and provide monthly reporting on PR performance and sentiment.
- Track share of voice, reach, and engagement across channels.
Position Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or brand marketing (home, design, or lifestyle industry preferred).
- Proven relationships with media in the design and lifestyle categories.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- A creative thinker with a passion for design and brand building.
- Flexibility to travel to tradeshows and media moments 5-10% of the year.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, communication, business, or related field.
- Ability to commute to Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
- US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
