HTI has an immediate contract-to-hire opening for an experienced QC Chemist or Lab Analyst with a manufacturing client in Augusta, GA. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, stable company that offers great benefits!
- Pay: $23.25 – $26.75/hour to start, depending on experience
- Working hours: Will work normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8-5) for the first 2-3 months, and may later go to a 12-hour rotating shift (a DuPont shift schedule, 7-7)
Requirements:
- Must have recent lab experience with ICP, IC, HPLC and Titrators
- Must have Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- Must have 2 years of recent experience as a Lab Analyst or QC Chemist with a manufacturing company, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food or chemical industry
- Must currently be located in the Augusta, GA area and able to start a new position within 1-2 weeks
- Must have LIMS software and Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook experience; SAP is preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and basic statistical calculations
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (both now or in the future)
Summary:
Responsible for the testing and disposition of raw material, in-process and finished product according to procedures. Performs preparation of solutions and samples, calibration of analytical instruments, and interpretation of statistical analyses/results.
Job Duties include:
- Perform analysis on bulk and packaged final products utilizing ICP, IC, HPLC and Titrators
- Ensure that methods comply with regulatory and other requirements (i.e., FCC, USP/NF, EP).
- Perform analysis on in-process samples to monitor and/or confirm that manufacturing specifications are being met.
- Participate in SQC charting of control samples, analyzing variations, and troubleshooting.
- Assure proper quality control of finished product for shipment and release material in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and SAP (Inventory Management System).
- Perform calibration, basic diagnostic, and troubleshooting procedures for laboratory instruments as needed.
- Generate Certificates of Analysis using the lab computer systems.
- Assess Out-of-Specifications (OOS) results, determine the impact on the product, and ensure timely resolution or corrective action.
- Maintains laboratory supply inventory.
- Prepare samples and necessary paperwork for shipments.
- Maintain historical records by utilizing record keeping systems and filing documents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform all activities in a safe and conscientious manner.
