Lead the learning that powers world-class shipbuilding

Step into a role where your pipefitting know-how becomes the fuel for developing others. You will design and deliver in-house training for field support teams and customers, transforming complex shipbuilding concepts into clear, practical learning. From course planning and content creation to hands-on facilitation, you’ll own the full training lifecycle and keep materials current as technology and requirements evolve.

What your day looks like
  • Map out training goals, build curricula, and select the right instructional methods and media.
  • Author training materials, job aids, and assessments; coordinate development of visuals and training aids.
  • Lead engaging training sessions for internal personnel and customer groups; bring in subject-matter expert trainers when appropriate.
  • Establish evaluation criteria, measure effectiveness, and iterate courses to close performance gaps.
  • Continuously update lesson plans to reflect new standards and the latest technical information.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; OR Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience, or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience, or other relevant non-exempt experience
Preferred experience
  • O26 or O67 training instructional experience and/or trade supervisory experience
  • Fluency in core training processes (scheduling, facilitation, course development)
  • Proven ability to lead people and manage daily priorities
  • Professional presence and composure
  • Clear, confident communication with all levels of leadership
