Position Summary
HR MGMT 10, LLC is an Employer of Record providing workforce support services to partnered brands operating in regulated and multi-state environments. The Accounting Director is responsible for leading the company’s accounting operations, financial controls, and reporting accuracy across multiple entities and states.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional who can own day-to-day accounting execution while building structure, enforcing controls, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. The Accounting Director plays a critical role in cash flow visibility, compliance, audit readiness, and executive decision support.
This role is not purely strategic — it requires active involvement in the numbers.
Core Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations & Close Management
- Own the full accounting function, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across all entities
- Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights to leadership
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and decision-ready
3. Compliance, Tax & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee sales/use tax, payroll tax, and multi-state compliance coordination
- Partner with external tax advisors, auditors, and accounting firms
- Prepare audit schedules and support audits and regulatory reviews
4. Payroll, Benefits & Intercompany Oversight
- Oversee payroll accounting, reconciliations, and accruals
- Ensure proper accounting for benefits, workers’ compensation, and employer taxes
- Manage intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations
5. Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Own accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable accounting processes
- Strengthen internal controls to support growth and audit readiness
- Ensure SOPs are documented and followed
6. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Legal, and Executive teams
- Serve as the primary accounting leader and point of contact for financial operations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly preferred and considered a critical requirement
- Candidates with a non-accounting Bachelor’s degree may be considered if they hold an active CPA license, which will be treated as equivalent
- CPA or CMA designation
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or equivalent leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing month-end close and multi-entity accounting
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (required due to complexity and longer learning curve)
- Experience operating in multi-state, high-growth, or regulated environments
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in CPG and/or Food & Beverage industries (considered a strong plus, not required)
- Experience in retail and/or eCommerce environments
- eCommerce experience is highly valued and sufficient; physical retail store experience is not required
- Experience supporting audits and working with external accounting firms
- Experience in cannabis, hemp, or other regulated industries

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 annually
Placement within the range is based on experience, depth of accounting ownership, audit and compliance expertise, and leadership capability.
