Our client, a growing medical device company based in Woodbury, NY, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the monthly close process while supporting day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, accounts payable, billing, and audit activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process and reconcile vendor invoices and vendor payments.
- Support customer billing and invoice processing.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.
- Perform additional accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the medical device, manufacturing, or healthcare industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP accounting systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
