HR and Payroll Assistant
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (15238)
Howard Hanna is looking to add an exciting new role to our HR team. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who is interested in growing their career in HR and Payroll. We are offering a hybrid schedule, competitive pay, benefits and PTO/Vacation package and a great team environment!
Description of duties and responsibilities:
- Collect non-exempt timecards weekly and follow up on timecard discrepancies with managers.
- Work closely with Payroll Specialists/Director to resolve payroll and time & attendance issues.
- Work with HR Director on special projects or initiatives.
- Handle entering in new hires and terminating employees in ADP HRIS system.
- Support payroll & HR team in producing and creating reports from ADP as required.
- Act as back-up for other payroll specialists as needed.
- Act as back-up to HR Coordinator with HR related duties.
- Pulls various ADP reports every quarter- keeps monthly/quarterly reports updated
- Handles VOE’s as requested.
- Files documents into ADP and maintains physical I-9 Compliance.
- Loyal services awards- reporting, ordering, coordinating.
- Unemployment paperwork physical copies and online responses.
- Post open positions on career page and ATS system.
- Support Benefits team during open enrollment, special projects and high volume work flow.
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Strong organizational, time management skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills. Problem solving capabilities must be strong.
- Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
- Good judgment and tactful customer service skills are required.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word / Excel is necessary
- Ability to secure, safeguard and maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Ability to work under direction and supervision of others.
Education and experience required:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, human resources or related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred working in a Administrative Assistant, HR Assistant or Payroll related position.
