Essential Job Functions
General Accounting:
- Responsible for month end close procedures, including developing and maintaining reports and files on account balances
- Maintain general ledger accounts, create monthly close journal entries
- Prepare complete balance sheet and income statement account analyses in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts related to each government contract.
- Propose and record adjusting entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and credit card account reconciliation
- Record cash deposits in bank and book interbank transfers
- Maintain cash flow schedule
- Responsible for Positive Pay banking review and upload
- Support the budgeting process by preparing relative financial data
- Review 1099 year-end forms before going out to payees and IRS.
- Assist with audits, to include providing reconciliations, preparing schedules, and organizing files for review
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
- Work as a back-up to an AP staff
- Assist in cost allocations for all expenses
- Review and reconcile federal and state quarterly 941 tax returns.
- Work with HR for any payroll related general ledger changes.
- Maintain key performance indicator reports.
- Record payroll journal entries and maintain wage cost distribution
- Bachelor’s in Accounting required.
- 7 years of experience in accounting or related function.
- Detail and deadline-oriented self-starter.
- Ability to work independently.
- Highly organized, proven problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proven, solid software skills and experience with automated accounting systems; Fund-EZ experience preferred.
