Private Home Cook needed in Manhattan, NY - Across from Lincoln Center! 

The Ideal Candidate: A skilled home cook to join this household of primarily one individual, occasionally two individuals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing meals and snacks in the home, emphasizing simplicity and healthiness. The principal may provide pre-specified recipes (or a recipe book) for this person to execute or review recipes with him, and would like someone who will work and collaborate with him to adapt recipes as needed to his taste. They may also have specific item preferences, such as a favorite bread, which will be communicated. 

What Works Best: Someone passionate about cooking nutritious meals and creating a welcoming dining experience. Someone skilled in preparing healthy meals and adhering to ingredient preferences. 

Responsibilities: 

• Plan weekly menus in consultation with the principal, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
• Handle grocery shopping for the week, including sourcing fresh ingredients and pantry staples.
• Prepare and cook meals according to provided recipes and preferences, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
• Adapt meals to any dietary restrictions or preferences of the household members.
• May be asked to prepare meals during the week, to have on hand for the weekend.

• Proven experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in a private household setting.
• Knowledge of simple, healthy cooking techniques and meal preparation.
• Knowledge of vegan preparation and cooking is a plus! 
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and execute meals with attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills, including meal planning and grocery shopping.
• Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to accommodate occasional changes in meal times or preferences.
• Flexibility to work weekends, if requested and scheduled in advance.

Position Compensation

• Salary: $120K Annually, DOE, Negotiable for the right candidate.
