Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and ensure timely meal preparation for catering events or daily service.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Adhere to dietary guidelines when preparing meals for specific dietary departments or customer requests.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques related to sushi making.
Skills
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making and Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in the food industry with a focus on culinary arts is preferred.
