JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Food Procurement & Distribution, oversee and participate in the planning, organization, and daily operations of the Stuart food pantry, nutrition center and food lockers. Assist with the intake of donated items in the food distribution warehouse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PANTRY / FOOD LOCKERS
- Ensure the pantry is orderly and properly stocked and inventoried
- Ensure that all staff and volunteers follow all pantry standard operating procedures, food safety guidelines, security procedures, and cleanliness.
- Oversee the operation of the (POS) Point of Sale System, inventory process, and accurate data entry.
- Maintain and load pantry orders in the food lockers.
- Maintain the accurate upkeep and compliance of all logs, records, ordering processes, and demographic reporting to the pantry SOPs.
- Train volunteers as needed.
- Oversee group volunteer projects.
- Assist in the House of Hope inventory process.
- Assist with facility maintenance and cleanliness.
NUTRITION CENTER
- Coordinate and implement the cooking & production of consumable food products.
- Coordinate and implement the packaging of fresh produce, bulk food, food produced in the Nutrition Center or food salvage product.
- Develop and maintain record-keeping and inventory of supplies, equipment, food production, and packaging.
- Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing of nutrition center equipment and machinery.
- Explain and enforce safe food handling, safety regulations, and policies.
- Supervise and instruct culinary interns.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES
- Act as an ambassador of the House of Hope and ensure the highest quality services to our customers, clients, and supporters.
- Participate in disaster- or emergency-related duties, as needed.
- Provide support to fellow department team members, as well as outside departments, as needed.
- Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate cleanliness, safety, and security standards.
- Attend training, as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with three months related experience. Valid Florida driver’s license and clear motor vehicle record for a minimum of seven years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. Maintain confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and agency.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others.
- Ability to use Google email and calendar.
- Ability to read, write, and do simple math.
- Ability to be adaptable to changing processes and critical thinking.
- Ability to plan.
- Ability to obtain SafeServe Food Manger Certification
- Ability to use warehouse tools such as pallet jacks and scales.
- Ability to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance and dress appropriately for the position.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Compliance with House of Hope policies and procedures.

Pay Range is $40,000 - $50,000.
Hours: M-F 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
