HotFoot Recruiters is seeking a Technology Designer to join a forward-thinking architecture and engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design of diverse technology systems for advanced technology fabs including data, communication, and integrated control technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and document technology systems including structured cabling, security systems, access control, surveillance (CCTV), audio/visual, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and project management teams to ensure technology systems align with overall building design and client expectations.
- Support the development of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Facility Monitoring and Control Systems (FMCS), and other integrated control systems.
- Assist in preparing drawings, specifications, riser diagrams, and device layout plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Conduct site visits and field coordination when necessary to validate design intent and implementation.
- Stay up to date with evolving technologies, codes, and best practices for commercial building systems.
- 5 years of experience in designing diverse technology systems design for commercial or institutional buildings.
- Familiarity with design and implementation of structured cabling, data networks, security systems, and A/V systems.
- Working knowledge of SCADA, FMCS, or other building controls systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across design disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology Design, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- Additional engineering background in MEP is a HUGE PLUS.
