Who We Are
Hotel Jackson is a boutique luxury hotel on the Town Square in Jackson, Wyoming. We are independently owned, personally operated, and deeply invested in this place. Hospitality here isn’t transactional — it’s an act of genuine connection. We believe in warmth, authenticity, expertise, and the kind of care that makes guests feel truly at home.
Our mission is simple: We are here to host. That means anticipating needs, elevating every detail, and delivering impactful memorable moments.
The Role
We’re looking for a Restaurant Server who understands that great hospitality is about more than delivering food. You’re the guest’s guide through the meal — reading the table, anticipating needs, sharing the story behind the cuisine, and creating a moment that feels personal rather than scripted.
Our rooftop is not a high-volume turnover operation. We move with intention across both lunch and dinner service. The guests who dine here are discerning, and they notice the difference between someone who takes orders and someone who genuinely hosts. The tapas format invites conversation and collaboration — you’re guiding the meal, not just executing it. That distinction is what we’re hiring for.
What You’ll Own
- Table presence: ensure your section is impeccably set before each service — clean, ordered, and ready to receive guests at the standard our rooftop requires.
- The welcome: greet guests with warmth from the moment they arrive; set the tone for the entire meal in the first thirty seconds.
- Menu fluency: know the tapas and cocktail offerings deeply — ingredients, preparation, flavor profiles, pairings, and the story behind each — so every recommendation feels confident and genuine.
- Order accuracy: take and deliver food and beverage orders with precision; small errors at a luxury table are not small.
- The full experience: anticipate needs before guests voice them, check in with care rather than interruption, and time each course with intention.
- Guest recovery: handle concerns or complaints with a positive, professional attitude; find solutions and follow through.
- Team collaboration: work closely with kitchen staff, the bar, and fellow servers so the experience is seamless regardless of what’s happening behind the scenes.
- Payment and closeout: issue accurate checks, process payment, and close each table as attentively as you opened it.
- Sanitation and safety: maintain your section and shared spaces to the standard guests expect and health codes require.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a restaurant server or guest-facing hospitality role; fine dining or upscale casual experience strongly preferred.
- Genuine interest in food and beverage — curiosity about ingredients, cuisine, and the craft of hospitality.
- Strong communication skills: warm, articulate, and confident in conversation with discerning guests.
- Attention to detail: you notice what’s off before the guest does and correct it.
- Composure under pressure — busy services don’t rattle you; they focus you.
- Collaborative and reliable; the team counts on you to show up, communicate, and follow through.
- Responsible and trustworthy with payment handling and guest information.
- Availability for lunch and dinner shifts including weekends and holidays as required by the service schedule.
Who Thrives Here
Our rooftop is the right place for a server who takes genuine pride in the craft — someone who finds satisfaction in a well-guided tapas progression, a perfectly matched cocktail recommendation, and a guest who lingers because the experience was that good.
You’ll thrive if you:
- See hosting as a skill worth developing, not a job to get through.
- Take ownership of your section and your guests — proactively, not reactively.
- Care about the food: you want to understand what you’re serving and share that knowledge with guests.
- You see training as an opportunity to grow, not something to get through.
- Thrive in a small, high-trust team where your presence and performance are genuinely felt.
This may not be the right fit if you:
- Prefer high-volume, high-turnover environments where speed matters more than connection.
- Are not interested in learning the food and beverage program in depth.
- Need heavy management structure to stay on standard during a busy service.
