Hotel Manager Harbour View Inn
Hotel Investment Services (HIS) is seeking a Hotel Manager for the Harbour View Inn. Located on Mackinac Island, this boutique hotel has 80 guest rooms and will be undergoing a full renovation of guestrooms and landscaping this winter. The Hotel Manager will be responsible for executing the strategic goals of the hotel and ensuring all staff are performing in alignment with these goals. The Hotel Manager will oversee overall operations with the overarching goal of creating the best guest experience possible.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mackinac Island, Michigan: Candidate must be able to commute daily or is willing to relocate before starting work (Required May October)
Job Duties:
- Critically review reports on occupancy, revenue etc. Make judgments and implement changes to maximize profits.
- Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication.
- Assist with overseeing all hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage.
- Participate in community affairs and maintain a positive public image for the hotel.
- Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff.
- Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service throughout hotel.
- Create department schedules adhering to property labor budget.
- Greet and maintain rapport with associates and customers.
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by addressing guest concerns, complaints, and inquiries promptly and professionally. Maintain thorough knowledge of the hotels features, room availability and services.
- Physically tour and inspect property daily.
- Create and implement property activations to generate awareness and sales.
- Monitor guest arrivals, ensuring special requests are met. Coordinates group arrivals and departures as needed.
- Ensure proper staffing to service business demands and provide coverage as needed.
- Maintain a professional image, including physical appearance, verbiage, and body language always.
- Must be detailed, organized and helpful.
Essential Functions:
- Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, email, and property management software
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings
- Must be present with all guest relations and events to ensure exceptional service
- Hospitality industry experience as director or department manager preferred
Position Type & Expected Hours
- Salaried, fulltime, year-round
- In season: 6 days per week (Approximately 50 to 60 hours per week), Offseason: 4 days per week (Approximately 32 to 40 hours per week)
