Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during daily food preparation and service
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, dietary requirements, and portion standards
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and health department regulations
- Monitor food quality, temperature logs, and kitchen cleanliness
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, and proper food storage
- Coordinate meal service to ensure timely delivery to residents
- Train and mentor dietary staff on kitchen procedures and safety practices
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment
- Work collaboratively with dietary management and healthcare staff to accommodate resident dietary needs
- Previous cooking and supervisory experience required
- Experience in healthcare, nursing home, rehabilitation, or senior living dining services preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
