2nd Grade Classroom Teacher

Position Purpose

Horizon Science Academy Davenport is a public charter school.

We are looking for a dedicated 2nd grade elementary teacher to fill a classroom teacher opening immediately. Our STEM-focused charter school serves Kindergarten through 7th grade. This will be our second year open, and we continue to make strides to offer Parent Choice and give students a positive school experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging STEM curricula for students
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Build strong relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Valid Iowa teaching certification
• Experience in elementary education, preferably in a STEM setting
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building
• Commitment to fostering connections within the school community
• Passion for integrating STEM concepts into the curriculum
