Job description:
Horizon Science Academy Davenport is a public charter school in Davenport, Iowa. We are looking for dedicated elementary teachers to fill an immediate opening in grade 2 for the 2026-2027 school year. Our STEM-focused charter school, serving Kindergarten through 7th grade. This will be our second year open and we continue to make strides to offer Parent Choice and give students a positive school experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging STEM curricula for students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Meet with grade level teams and staff to review data and plan for instruction
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Iowa teaching certification
- Experience in elementary education, preferably in a STEM setting
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building
- Commitment to fostering connections within the school community
- Passion for integrating STEM concepts into the curriculum
