Sandy, UT Full Time
POSTED ON 9/30/2025

Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Director to lead our mental health team and uphold the highest standards of care. The Clinical Director will oversee all clinical operations, supervise staff, manage compliance with JCAHO standards, and collaborate with justice and community partners to improve patient outcomes. This role may be filled by a licensed behavioral health clinician (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Psychologist) or a medical provider (Psychiatrist or PMHNP), with responsibilities tailored to professional background.

Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Patient Care

  • Direct day-to-day outpatient operations to ensure trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care.
  • Oversee treatment planning for parolees, justice-involved clients, and individuals with SUD and co-occurring disorders.
  • Integrate therapy and medication management services where applicable.

Compliance & Accreditation

  • Ensure adherence to JCAHO standards, Medicaid/Optum billing policies, and state/federal regulations.
  • Lead preparation for accreditation surveys, audits, and quality reviews.

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team (therapists, case managers, nurses, and support staff).
  • For psychiatrists/PMHNPs: oversee prescribing practices and provide medical supervision.
  • For LCSWs/Psychologists: provide clinical supervision, guide evidence-based interventions, and support case management practices.

Program Development & Community Collaboration

  • Develop rehabilitation-focused policies and programs tailored to parolees, sexual offenders (if certified), and individuals in recovery.
  • Collaborate with probation officers, correctional agencies, and community providers to ensure integrated, wraparound care.

Performance Monitoring & Quality Improvement

  • Track clinical metrics such as relapse prevention, engagement rates, and recidivism reduction.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement across programs and staff performance.

Administrative & Fiscal Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between administration, staff, patients, families, and justice/community partners.

Required Qualifications

These are the non-negotiables—candidates must already meet these to be considered.

  • Current Utah independent license: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatrist (MD/DO), or PMHNP-BC.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/Optum billing policies, documentation standards.
  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory or clinical leadership in outpatient behavioral health, addiction recovery, or similar settings.
  • Experience with SUD treatment and dual-diagnosis care.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee quality assurance, audits, and accreditation readiness (JCAHO compliance).
  • Strong administrative skills in program development and collaboration with justice/community systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across clinical, administrative, and justice system stakeholders.
  • A heart for service and a vision for patient-centered, recovery-oriented care.

Preferred Qualifications

These are “nice-to-haves” that show a candidate is especially well-suited—but lacking one is not an immediate disqualifier.

  • Advanced training in evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, offender rehabilitation models).
  • For Psychiatrists/PMHNPs: experience integrating medication management with psychotherapy services.
  • Experience managing court-mandated treatment programs or collaborating with correctional institutions.
  • Certification or eligibility as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider (SOTP) in Utah.
  • Prior experience treating justice-involved clients, parolees, or sexual offenders.
  • Familiarity with Targeted Case Management (T1016), offender rehabilitation contracts, or grant-funded reentry programs.
  • Experience with telehealth service delivery, billing, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in grant funding or governmental contracts.
