The instructor’s technical expertise will be utilized to provide classroom and hands-on training for all Hope Utilities employees.

Position Summary
The instructor is responsible for facilitating technical training for all Hope Utilities field employees. This position will also be responsible for carrying out Operator Qualification evaluations. The instructor’s technical expertise will be utilized to provide classroom and hands-on training for all Hope Utilities employees.
DUTIES &
- Responsible for Training and Evaluation of employees at Hope Utilities at the Technical Training Facility.
- Ensure all DOT, OSHA, PHMSA, FMCSA, NFPA 54 and state regulations are adhered to for each operating business as part of training process.
- Instruct and qualify various classes with emphasis in C&M, GM&R, Compression, Tapping & Stopple, and/or FMS.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on technical areas, with support to Operations field employees with questions and advice as needed.
- Assist other Instructors with classes as needed.
- Assist Training Manager with the scheduling of all Training classes and OQ Evaluations.
- Assist with investigation efforts into all post-incident investigations, material, and mechanical failures.
- Assist the Instructional Design Specialist with development of training content and curriculum.
- Assist with Training and OQ audits across Hope Utilities.
- Focus on identifying and implementing new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance the training and evaluation experience.
- Travel to conduct classes across Hope Utilities footprint as necessary.

- Can articulate detailed instructions to all levels of students
- Stays organized in a rapidly changing scope of work
- Can manage a workload of multiple class cohorts at one time
- Has knowledge of DOT, OSHA, PHMSA, FMCSA, and NFPA 54 regulations
- Has detailed knowledge of gas distribution systems, transmission systems, gas measurement, field metering services, and/or tapping & stoppling operations.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to identify safety and training indicators for improvement and implement proactive measures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least three (3) years of experience in gas operations, distribution, or related field is required
- At least one (1) year of experience as an instructor is preferred
- OSHA 10/30, or OSHA CSS certificate is preferred.
