Position Summary
The Financial Analyst supports the Finance team in budgeting, forecasting, rates, treasury, M&A, and financial reporting activities. This role provides analytical support to help drive informed decision-making across the organization, with a focus on learning and development within the natural gas and water industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts in collaboration with business units.
- Support M&A and ad hoc analysis for executive management.
- Prepare and distribute standard monthly financial reports and variance analyses.
- Support financial performance tracking and identify trends or anomalies.
- Maintain and update financial models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Conduct basic financial analysis to support project evaluations and operational decisions.
- Assist in monitoring cost and revenue trends across departments.
- Provide support for rate case preparation and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure accuracy.
- Help ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support audit preparation and documentation efforts.
- Prepare presentations for executives, investors, banks, and board of directors

- Understanding of utility finance, rate structures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management and analysis.
- Analytical, problem assessment, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial software (Onestream), and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Finacial Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
- Senior Financial Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- At least six (6) years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
