POSITION SUMMARY
The Internal Communications Coordinator supports the development and delivery of firmwide internal communications that keep attorneys and business professionals informed, engaged, and connected. This role focuses on content creation, intranet maintenance, and logistical coordination, working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and cross‑functional teams across the firm.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for communications including writing, editing, and proofreading engaging copy, who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can engage in multiple projects simultaneously, often independently and proactively.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content development: Draft and edit internal announcements, newsletters, presentations, and strategic messaging for multiple firm stakeholders; set standards for tone and voice across channels.
- Governance and strategy: Support the Director of Marketing & Communications on setting strategy and shaping the enterprise editorial agenda to ensure measurable outcomes. Own, build, launch, and steward our intranet end-to-end, delivering high-impact content and campaigns.
- Editorial calendar development and maintenance: Manage the internal editorial calendar, including flagship programs and targeted campaigns that inform, engage, and align employees with Firm priorities.
- Intranet audit and maintenance: Perform comprehensive channel audit and update pages, manage content accuracy, and support ongoing improvements to site organization; ensure platforms are current, user-friendly, and effective.
- Email and distribution support: Prepare and schedule internal emails, maintain distribution lists, and ensure timely delivery.
- Campaign execution: Assist with firmwide initiatives such as culture programs, strategic messaging for the CEO, COO, and CBDMO, DEI communications, HR campaigns, and technology rollouts.
- Event and program support: Coordinate communication materials for town halls, trainings, and internal events.
- Metrics and reporting: Establish metrics, track engagement data, and prepare summary reports for the Director of Marketing and Communications; run initial and ongoing audits of channels, content, and processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Cross‑department collaboration: Partner with HR, IT, Operations, and practice groups to gather information and support communication needs.
- Quality control: Proofread content, check links, and ensure consistency with firm style and tone.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a similar role; professional‑services experience preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and understanding of the AP Style.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfort with digital tools such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams, email platforms, and content‑management systems.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Interest in internal communications strategy and employee engagement.
- Basic understanding of change‑management communication.
- Experience with analytics or reporting tools.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
- Storytelling ability to bring firm culture and values to life.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Honigman provides a generous total compensation package, which includes comprehensive health and well-being benefits, as well as 401k and profit sharing. The anticipated annual pay range for this role is $85,000 to $100,000 (non-exempt). The actual offered pay rate will be determined based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
