The HBT HSE Process Excellence Director, will provide global oversight for all of the HBT HSE tools, processes and procedures. A key responsibility will be to provide continuous improvement expertise that assists the business in reducing & eliminating the operational HSE risks and driving the maturity of our performance within the three defined management systems; Large site manufacturing, Field operations and OLRS (office and low risk sites). Reporting to the HBT VP Health, Safety & Environment, you will develop & deliver the HBT HSEPS strategic plan (STRAP) & Annual Operating Plan (AOP) whilst ensuring long term development of the HBT HSE teams MOS (Management Operating System). You will be responsible for developing an HSE performance culture that will differentiate HBT from our competitors and expand Honeywell’s reputation in HSE. The role will have 5 direct reports who support the process excellence group in HBT.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & drive an HSE culture that values and promotes a safe working environment by enhancing the knowledge, skills and engagement of employees, contractors and sub-contractors
- Develop in partnership with the HBT HSE team subject matter experts the global strategy for Business Continuity, Office & low risk sites (OLRS), Sustainability, Field Operations and Manufacturing ISC locations.
- Continuously improve the management operating systems and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the HBT HSE programs.
- Support & improve the MST across the HBT business, including all applications, tools and processes supporting the HSE Management Systems
- Lead the development & deployment of the 3-5 strategic plan (STRAP) & annual operating plan (AOP) for HSE performance across HBT. Including use of tools such as the X-Matrix, A3 plans & lean principles.
- Lead the development, deployment & continual refresh of the HSE Management operating system (MOS) & leadership standard work (LSW) for HSE performance across HBT
- Partner with Information Technology (IT) strategic and tactical leaders to ensure access to existing tools and troubleshoot issues to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- To develop a structure and framework for a common data analytics collection & presenting across the 220 locations that supports a focused approach to addressing risk and improving maturity.
- Develop and deploy a global HSE Training and Development strategy.
- Lead the HBT Top Talent program & supporting MOS
- Assist in resolving potential non-compliance, enforcement actions or litigation regarding HSE matters.
- Represent HBT HSE on the respective Corporate HSE Leadership Teams & the HBT HSEPS Global Leadership Team
- Work with the Regional HSE Leaders to identify the necessary actions required to ensure ISO certifications are in place to allow the HBT business the ‘license to operate’
- Develop & deploy a robust governance & auditing program for HBT HSE.
- Partner with business leaders and employees to continuously improve the HSE culture & HSE awareness.
Key Deliverables:
- Achieve or exceed the annual operating plan (AOP) – Incident reduction / elimination
- Increase HSE Maturity, observations & corrective action metrics.
- Increase compliance to HSE standards from management, employees, contractors and sub-contractors.
- Ensure an HSE continuous improvement culture that is truly embedded within HBT.
- Ensure HSEPS is a key growth enabler to the HBT business and Honeywell.
- Improve the safety culture across the HBT business
