About Honey King
Honey King is a premier cannabis brand with deep roots in California and New York. We focus on building long-term retail partnerships by delivering premium products, dependable service, and consistent execution. As we continue expanding across New York's adult-use market, we are hiring high-performing sales professionals to manage and scale our regional retail relationships.
The Opportunity
This is a true outside sales “hunter” role in which you will own, develop, and grow an assigned regional territory. You will prospect new dispensary accounts, expand existing retail relationships, and oversee the order-to-delivery workflow.
We are seeking experienced field sales professionals who can operate independently. While cannabis industry experience is a plus, successful B2B sales professionals from other fast-moving or highly regulated industries—such as beverage, pharmaceutical, or technology sales—are strongly encouraged to apply.
Success in this role is measured by consistent field activity, new account acquisition, territory growth, CRM discipline, and revenue generated—not simply time spent in the office.
Openings and Regional Territories
Multiple territories are currently available, including:
- NYC Metro
- Hudson Valley / Capital Region
- Central New York
- Western New York
Candidates must reside within or immediately adjacent to the territory for which they are applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and open new licensed dispensary accounts within your assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with dispensary owners, retail buyers, and managers.
- Increase product placement and drive consistent account growth and upselling.
- Present products and promotions and close purchase orders efficiently.
- Coordinate brand activations, pop-ups, and product launches to support dispensary sell-through.
- Manage customer accounts throughout the sales cycle, from initial outreach through reorder activity.
- Partner with customers to maintain healthy account standing and timely payment activity.
- Coordinate internally to support accurate order processing, delivery, and customer service.
Daily Expectations
- Spend the majority of your workweek in the field visiting licensed dispensaries throughout your territory.
- Prospect consistently and maintain a structured pipeline of new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate, real-time records and activity updates in HubSpot CRM.
- Proactively plan and manage your geographic routes, appointments, and follow-up schedule.
- Communicate regularly with leadership regarding territory activity, account opportunities, and potential risks.
Who Will Excel in This Role
- Sales professionals who enjoy cold prospecting, territory building, and introducing new products.
- Highly organized individuals who follow up promptly and do not allow qualified opportunities to fall through.
- Representatives who are comfortable discussing inventory turns, retail margins, product placement, and sell-through metrics with buyers.
- Independent professionals who can manage a regional territory without constant supervision.
- Professionals who understand that disciplined activity consistently produces exceptional results.
This Position Is Probably Not a Good Fit If
- You prefer inside sales, office-based roles, or retail sales environments.
- You dislike cold prospecting, territory driving, or face-to-face pitching.
- You require close supervision or a daily schedule provided by management to remain productive.
- You struggle with self-organization, route planning, follow-up, or CRM administration.
- You are uncomfortable discussing account balances, payment expectations, or other routine account-management matters with customers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old due to regulatory requirements.
- Location: Must currently reside in New York State and live within or immediately adjacent to an available territory.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of successful outside B2B sales experience with a demonstrated record of territory development or revenue growth.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
- CRM Discipline: Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate sales activity, account notes, pipeline stages, and follow-up tasks in a CRM platform. HubSpot experience is strongly preferred.
- Industry Experience: Cannabis experience is a plus, but structured outside B2B sales experience is the primary qualification.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary of $70,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience.
- Uncapped commission structure.
- Expected Year 1 on-target earnings of $90,000–$130,000 based on performance.
- Comprehensive mileage and approved travel expense reimbursement.
- Company-issued phone or technology stipend.
- Deep product training and brand education.
- Strong leadership support.
- Established product portfolio.
- Growing statewide distribution network.
- Performance-driven compensation.
