What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at HomeTown Food Company?
Position Summary: The Production Supervisor will manage the plant operating teams on either the 2nd or 3rd shift. Provide leadership and ensure teams hit their operating, quality, and safety goals for their respective shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain effective relationships with leadership, peers, & subordinates.
- Embrace and encourage operating teams towards strong ethical values of honesty, respect, trust, responsibility, and fairness. Encourage operating teams to take ownership of their respective processes and responsibilities.
- Works with operating teams to identify and drive out production losses and improve throughput.
- Works with operating teams to correct hold orders and bring to resolution complete with corrective action.
- Works with operating teams to address safety concerns and assist in resolution.
- Technical resource for operating teams.
- Provide clear communication of breakdowns, process failures, quality holds, and safety issues on their respective shift to associated Team Area Leaders.
- Lead improvement projects.
- Coordinate skill set training as appropriate for the operating teams.
- Implement associate rewards & discipline as appropriate.
Key Capabilities and Metrics:
- Preferred to have a 4-year degree or proven technical capabilities.
- Excellent trouble-shooting and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills applying to people, projects or data.
- Ability to coach operating teams.
- Initiative-taking and can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer aptitude (Excel, Word, Access).
