Security Patrol (Dual Property)

The Home2 Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites is looking for a full time and part time dual property security guard.

Candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays. Hours will be approximately 10pm - 6am.

Position Summary

The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, employees, and property during overnight hours. This position ensures the security of the hotel through regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, and enforcing hotel policies with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

· Foot patrol all areas of the hotel property, including guest floors, parking areas, back-of-house, and perimeter, to ensure safety and security.
· Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
· Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or unauthorized access.
· Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports in a timely and accurate manner.
· Enforce hotel policies and procedures in a courteous but firm manner.
· Assist guests and employees in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner while maintaining confidentiality.
· Work closely with the front desk and night audit teams to monitor guest activity and address any security-related issues.
· Inspect doors, locks, and safety equipment to ensure proper functioning.
· Support evacuation procedures and crowd control during emergencies.
· Liaise with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional security or law enforcement training preferred.
· Prior experience in hotel security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
· CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
· Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
· Physically able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment

This position primarily involves overnight shifts in a hotel setting. The role may include both indoor and outdoor patrols and occasional exposure to varying weather conditions.

NOTICE:

Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 50 lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
