Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) / Caregiver to provide essential support and personalized care to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, managing medical needs, and fostering a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, recording vital signs and reporting any changes.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining detailed medical documentation.
- Support clients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or hospice care.
- Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care safely and effectively.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry and general cleaning.
- Use medical terminology appropriately when documenting patient records or communicating with healthcare teams.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle and active car insurance
- Ability to transport clients and run errands
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and mobility support
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Someone who can anticipate needs rather than wait for direction
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience in long-term care settings or home & community care environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to lift or transfer patients using Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids safely and confidently.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
