Home & Commercial Power Systems is the leading installer of automatic home standby generators in Western and Central New York, having installed over 5,000 home standby generators and having over 10,000 current preventive maintenance and service customers.
Home & Commercial Power Systems is looking to expand our generator service team and is currently seeking Generator Service Technicians to repair and maintain residential automatic standby generator systems.

Salary Range: $20-$28 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on standby generators and related equipment
- Warranty repairs and 24/7 emergency service calls
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Inspect electrical components including wiring, panels, voltage, etc.
- Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems
- Educate customers and provide excellent customer service
- Use hand and power tools
- Transport generator parts and equipment in a company vehicle
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows codes and standards
- Complete required documentation of service as per company policy and directive
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- One year experience working on gas engines and/or electrical wiring
- Hands-on experience with generator installation or repair a plus
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Great time management and detail-oriented
- Must be professional, reliable, and hard-working
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Familiarity with tools and equipment
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel & lift 70 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to multi-task and work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team
- Must have a valid driver’s license, possess, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
