About the Position
AUAF is looking for an enthusiastic IT profeessional to join our AUAF Family. The IT Desktop Technician will support our current systems and assets, assist with upgrades and fixes, and provide support as needed. Our agency is a high-intensity workplace with a fast-growing, dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, network maintenance, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. This position reports to the IT Manager but may also receive assignments from executive officers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Work as a team to handle business-critical IT tasks and system improvements
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
- Serve as the subject matter expert supporting users with MAC OSX, Windows, and all office software and applications, such as Microsoft, Adobe, and G-Suite products
- Install, configure, and support workstation software, hardware, printers, and phones
- Analyze staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, boost efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with system and network support, documentation, implementation, and testing, ensuring components meet needs and work together seamlessly
- Implement applications and software upgrades, as well as performance troubleshooting
- Train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed
- Follow all IDoA and AUAF policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science; and 5 years more of equivalent experience
- Experience with or knowledge of operating systems; current equipment and technologies, and system performance-monitoring tools,
- Advanced computer skills and detail orientation
- Microsoft Certification
- CompTIA A , ITF , Net , 8 , Microsoft Administrator Certification
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Pass state-required background check
Preferred
- Additional relevant certifications
- Speaks a second language
Training
- Complete IDoA required Homecare Supervisor Training (HOST) within 90 days of employment
- Complete 24 hours of in-service training on aging-related subjects within each calendar year
- Complete additional training as assigned by AUAF management
Required Skills
- Strong, logical and analytical troubleshooting skills to help Employees with technical issues.
- Knowledge of diverse operating systems like Windows10, 11, Linux, or Mac
- Microsoft Server/Workstation OS, and VMWare
- Experience in Microsoft 365 and Tools
- Experience in set-up and troubleshooting VOIP
- Knowledge of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), storage area networks (SAN), and virtual private networks (VPNs). Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service
- Superior organization and time management
- Evenings and weekends may be required
