Middle School Learning Specialist

Position Summary:
Join a team dedicated to every student’s success. As a Middle School Learning Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students academically. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will support student growth, meet with students with learning plans in small groups, and foster a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels encouraged to learn and thrive. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret educational evaluations
- Address the individual needs of the student through the development of a personal learning plan
- Supervise the management of students’ accommodations based on evaluations
- Assist faculty in the design and implementation of appropriate lesson plans to meet the academic needs and learning style of the student
- Assist in testing conditions for regularly scheduled tests, midterm/final exams, and appropriate standardized assessments to foster maximum concentration and success
- Assist with coordination of MAP Testing
- Provide training in executive functioning and organization
- Teach a study skills class
- Maintaining ongoing communication with parents and faculty to update student progress
- Work closely with the administration through regular meetings
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Experience as a learning specialist
- Current CPR certification
- Willingness to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty members, and parents

- Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
- Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level
Preferred
- Master’s degree in education
- Training in Orton-Gillingham or other student support programs
- Experience working in an independent school setting
- Previous relevant experience in an educational setting
Salary : $50,000 - $62,000
