Position Summary:
Join a team dedicated to every student’s success. As an Educational Assistant (Primary School), you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom experience. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will help deliver engaging instruction, support student growth, and foster a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels encouraged to learn and thrive.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties:
- Serve as an Educational Assistant in the Primary School in alignment with Holy Trinity’s mission and values
- Adhere to the standards and expectations set forth by the Maryland Department of Education
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement lessons aligned with Holy Trinity’s Primary School standards
- Assume Lead Teacher responsibilities in their absence, as needed
- Support classroom activities that address students’ academic, physical, social, and emotional needs
- Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and behavior guidelines to help each child succeed
- Communicate regularly and professionally with fellow assistants, teachers, and staff
- Promote and support Holy Trinity through participation in HTSA and other school‑sponsored events
Professional Duties:
- Always model a strong character, demonstrating good judgment and maintaining the highest standards of ethical, honest, and forthright conduct
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
- Demonstrate expertise in assigned content areas and remain current in best practices and research related to child development
- Communicate effectively and consistently with students, parents, and colleagues
- Foster a classroom environment characterized by warmth, care, fairness, and respect for all students
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students and families
- Promote a culture of respect within the classroom and throughout the
school community
- Share positive feedback with parents first and collaborate with families when addressing student academic or behavioral concerns
- Advocate for students by identifying and connecting them with appropriate resources beyond the classroom when needed
- Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance, including participation in all required school meetings and events
Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to serve as an effective educator in and out of the classroom
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous relevant experience in an educational setting
Salary : $30,000 - $35,000
