Holy Spirit Catholic School is a PreK-8 school located in Annandale, Virginia. Holy Spirit seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking candidate for the position of Technology teacher. Candidates should have a background in elementary education and possess or be eligible for certification/licensure in Virginia or through the VCEA. All candidates must be practicing Catholics with a devotion to our faith while developing innovative technologies that support teaching and learning.
Qualified candidates will have a passion for technology and education. The successful candidate will be responsible for approximately 25-30 hours of teaching in grades 3-8 and possess an understanding of how all the hardware, software, policies, and procedures fit together in the school's technology implementation to help teachers, staff, administrators and students use technology more effectively. Compensation is based on a step pay scale that provides pay based on degree level and years of teaching experience, ranging from $50,000 for a Bachelors with less than 1 year experience to $70,000 for Masters with 10 years experience, with pro-ration for positions scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the administration to develop ways and strategies to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum
- Establishes and enforces information technology standards, procedures, and policies.
- Teaching diocesan tech standards in 3-8 classrooms
Skills and Experience
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
- Solid working knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and related technologies including: Google Chromebooks, and IPADS
- Experience with educational administrative systems such as, Google for Education Apps, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of coding, 3D Printing, Robotics and STEM
