Position Overview
The Director of IT eCommerce is responsible for the delivery, execution, and operational performance of Holley’s digital commerce platforms. Reporting to the CIO, this role ensures that eCommerce systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and delivered at the speed required by the business, while operating within established enterprise architecture standards.
This leader partners closely with Marketing, Sales, and Business Unit leadership to translate business demand into executable delivery plans, ensuring eCommerce platforms support revenue growth, promotions, and customer experience goals.
This role does not own enterprise architecture, but works in close partnership with Architecture and Integration teams to ensure solutions are implemented correctly, consistently, and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Delivery Alignment
Act as the primary IT delivery partner for Marketing, Sales, and Business Unit leaders for all eCommerce initiatives.
Translate business demand into delivery plans, timelines, and execution priorities.
Partner closely with Marketing eCommerce leadership to support digital campaigns, promotions, and growth initiatives.
Serve as the accountable owner for delivery outcomes and platform performance.
Platform Delivery & Operations
Own delivery, reliability, and support for:
Holley proprietary eCommerce platforms
B2B Portal
Shopify instances (all brands)
WordPress and content platforms
Supporting services and integrations
Ensure platforms operate within agreed service levels for availability, performance, and support.
Drive continuous improvement in release cadence, incident response, and operational stability.
Engineering & Team Leadership
Lead engineering, QA, and application support teams responsible for eCommerce delivery.
Establish clear delivery expectations, accountability, and execution discipline.
Balance speed and quality to meet business timelines without compromising stability.
Act as the escalation point for delivery, operational, and production issues.
Execution Within Enterprise Architecture
Implement solutions in alignment with enterprise architecture, integration standards, and security requirements.
Partner with Architecture and Integration teams to review designs and ensure proper implementation.
Provide delivery feedback and operational insight to inform future architectural decisions.
Quality, Reliability & Support
Own QA execution, test coverage, and release readiness for eCommerce platforms.
Ensure effective incident management, root cause analysis, and follow-through.
Reduce production risk through disciplined change management and operational controls.
Security, Compliance & Governance
Ensure eCommerce platforms comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (PCI, GDPR/CCPA, etc.).
Partner with Security and Governance teams to remediate findings and manage risk.
Enforce secure development and operational practices across delivery teams.
Qualifications
Experience
8 years in software delivery, digital commerce, or application leadership roles.
3-5 years leading delivery-focused technical teams (engineering, QA, application support).
Proven experience operating and scaling enterprise eCommerce platforms.
Strong history of partnering with Marketing and business teams to deliver outcomes.
Leadership & Collaboration
Strong execution-oriented leader with the ability to drive results in fast-paced environments.
Clear communicator who can align business expectations with delivery realities.
Comfortable operating with high demand and limited slack.
Technical Background
Solid understanding of modern eCommerce platforms (Shopify, custom platforms, CMS).
Experience working within defined architectures and integration standards.
Familiarity with CI/CD, SDLC, change management, and production operations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
