Duties
- Develop, evaluate, and refine manufacturing processes using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to design efficient layouts and tooling.
- Lead project scheduling efforts to coordinate cross-functional teams in executing process improvements and new product launches.
- Perform root cause analysis on production issues, utilizing engineering troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve defects swiftly.
- Program and maintain industrial automation systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, CNC machines, and vision inspection systems.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive waste reduction, process optimization, and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on assembly line setup, fabrication techniques, welding procedures, and plastics injection molding processes.
- Analyze engineering data to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), support continuous improvement projects, and ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing are preferred.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role within a factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and CAM programming for machining processes.
- Hands-on experience with process engineering including capital projects, robotics programming, CNC machining, welding, and fabrication.
- Familiarity with industrial automation systems like PLCs and vision inspection systems; ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Skilled in project management with the ability to coordinate schedules effectively across teams; experience with factory experience is highly valued.
- Excellent analytical skills for engineering data analysis; adept at root cause analysis and implementing process improvements using Six Sigma tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in assembly line operations and factory environment protocols.
