What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator — Mental Health & Wellness position at Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry?
Job Summary
Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry is seeking a creative, highly organized part-time Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator to help us strengthen our local presence, keep our digital platforms current, and turn great ideas into consistent execution.
We are an integrative psychiatry and mental health practice in Cedar Rapids offering traditional psychiatric care alongside innovative services including Spravato®, ketamine therapy, psychotherapy, functional/root-cause medicine, and metabolic health programs.
We already have professional support for website/SEO and paid advertising. This is not a high-level marketing strategy or paid-ad-management position. We need someone who can take an established strategy and reliably execute the many details that make local marketing actually happen.
This could be an excellent role for a talented local marketer, communications professional, content creator, or marketing student/graduate who wants flexible part-time work and enjoys health and wellness.
Approximately 5–10 hours/week initially, with potential to grow based on results and practice needs. Much of the work can be completed remotely, with some in-person Cedar Rapids community outreach/events.
What You'll Do
- Create and schedule approximately 3 engaging organic social-media posts per week
- Turn existing clinical education, videos, blogs and ideas into polished social content
- Create simple graphics and materials using Canva or similar tools
- Keep provider profiles such as Psychology Today accurate and current
- Help maintain Google Business and other online practice profiles
- Coordinate local physician, therapist and community outreach
- Prepare referral packets, flyers and materials for weekly outreach
- Maintain a simple referral-source/contact tracker and coordinate follow-up
- Help promote community talks, open houses and educational events
- Repurpose educational talks and videos into social posts, short-form video and other content
- Coordinate approved patient-review outreach and reputation-management activities
- Work with our website/SEO/paid-marketing team to ensure messaging and campaigns remain consistent
- Help keep provider bios, photos, services, booking links and other public information current
- Identify appropriate local partnership, event and community-marketing opportunities
What We're Looking For
You do not need to be a senior marketing executive.
You do need to be someone who is:
- Extremely organized and reliable
- Comfortable working independently
- A strong writer and communicator
- Good at turning ideas into finished work
- Comfortable with Canva and social-media platforms
- Able to create polished content without constant direction
- Detail-oriented enough to catch outdated links, information and profiles
- Comfortable communicating professionally with physicians, therapists and community organizations
- Interested in mental health, functional medicine and innovative healthcare
Experience with healthcare marketing, Psychology Today, Google Business, Meta Business Suite, Canva, GoHighLevel or CRM/social scheduling tools is helpful but not required.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not a paid Google/Meta ads management role, and you will not be responsible for developing our overall digital marketing strategy from scratch.
We already have outside support for those functions.
We need someone who can execute consistently, coordinate locally, and make sure good marketing ideas actually get finished.
Schedule & Compensation
- Approximately 5–10 hours/week initially
- Flexible schedule
- Hybrid/remote with some Cedar Rapids-area work
- No weekends required except occasional planned community events
- $22–$30/hour, depending on experience
- Potential for additional hours as the role and practice grow

- In 2–3 sentences, tell us what you would do during your first month to help a local mental-health practice become more visible in the Cedar Rapids community.
Applications without these items may not be considered.
