What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites?
The Hotel Repairs & Maintenance maintains, This individual will actively participate in maintaining building/Building systems and implementing and/or upholding all safety practices.
Duties:
- Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc; repairs or replaces broken parts.

- Maintain all building systems.

- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled procedures.

- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structure.
- Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
- Coordinates with local health, safety, fire and building inspectors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Services the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
- May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; order parts as needed.
- Maintain inventory of stock and tools.
- Keep all work areas safe and organized.
- Reduce the use of subcontractors when appropriate particular in overtime situations without effecting guest experience.
- Perform regular PMs.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures (OSHA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assists with planning, quoting and implementing improvements and expansions.
- Reviews and Maintains work order system to ensure productivity goals are met
Working Conditions:
- Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Noise level in work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts

Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- A general knowledge and proficiency in repair techniques and use of required tools
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
- Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions and specific rules, regulations and processes and apply them to a variety of situations.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
Education and Years of Experience:
- Technical High School Degree required or;
- Technical training in a field related to building maintenance through a recognized trade, technical school or equivalent.
- One year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Supervisory Experience preferred, but not required
Requirements:

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
