Laundry Attendant

Duties

• Operate commercial-grade dryers, tunnel dryers, conveyor dryers, and laundry machines safely and efficiently, following all safety procedures.
• Perform fabric care tasks including dry cleaning, stain removal (mechanical, baking soda, hot water, cold water), bleaching, and steam cleaning to ensure garments are returned in pristine condition.
• Label garments accurately to prevent mix-ups and facilitate proper handling throughout the laundry process.
• Use laundry ironing and pressing machines to achieve crisp, professional finishes on linens and clothing items.
• Fold laundry with precision using laundry folding machines or manual techniques to maintain high standards of presentation.
• Manage inventory tracking for laundry supplies, detergents, bleach washing agents, and other materials to ensure smooth operations.
• Operate push carts and tunnel washers while maintaining an organized workspace that promotes safety and efficiency.
• Handle cashiering duties when required, processing payments or transactions related to laundry services with accuracy.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly and professionally.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of commercial laundry operations including barrier washer operation and stackable dryer use.
• Proficiency in fabric care techniques such as stain removal (including mechanical, baking soda, hot water, cold water), bleaching, and steam cleaning.
• Experience with laundry equipment such as laundry ironing machines, pressing machines, laundry folding machines, and machine operation safety procedures.
• Ability to operate specialized machinery like tunnel washers, tunnel dryers, conveyor dryers, garment care machines, and laundry steam cleaning systems effectively.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining an orderly workspace and tracking inventory accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with guests or clients.
• Previous hotel or hospitality experience is highly desirable to understand guest expectations for cleanliness and garment care excellence.
