Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and surface preparation instructions to execute precise painting tasks
• Apply paint using hand tools such as brushes and rollers or advanced equipment like paint sprayers (including airless and conventional spray systems) for efficient coverage
• Perform structural painting on various surfaces including stucco, masonry, concrete, and wood structures in accordance with safety regulations and project standards
• Use ladders and scaffolding safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas while adhering to safety protocol guidelines including respiratory protection measures
• Conduct surface inspections using visual color comparison techniques to ensure consistent color matching and finish quality across projects
• Assist with renovation projects by performing carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry or fixture installation when needed to support overall project goals

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings for accurate project execution
• Proficiency in residential, commercial, industrial painting, and surface preparation techniques including construction site experience
• Strong knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects and precise visual color matching
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding equipment
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction painting environments; committed to safety protocol adherence and proper use of respiratory protection
• Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as caulking, plastering, sanding, masonry work, and concrete finishing with precision
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience interpreting schematics or technical diagrams for accurate application of coatings
