Hotel Housekeeping / Laundry Attendant – Job Description
Position Summary:
The Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel linens. This role ensures guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay by providing high standards of cleanliness and timely laundry services.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Duties:
- Clean and service guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms
- Replenish guest supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linens
- Clean public areas like hallways, lobbies, and restrooms
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to management
- Follow hotel cleanliness and safety standards
Laundry Duties:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens and guest laundry
- Operate laundry machines safely and efficiently
- Inspect linens for stains or damage and treat or report as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area
- Ensure proper handling of guest clothing and delicate items
Requirements:
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and time management skills
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment
