What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Attendant position at Holiday Inn Express and Suites?
Must be flexible for scheduling, including weekends! Must work early mornings. Pay is based on experience.
Purpose of Position:
To exceed guest expectations at all times by projecting a positive image of the hotel through appearance, conduct, and service.
Position Summary:
The number one priority of this department is guest satisfaction. You are the key to exceeding guests' expectations through providing personal service and maintaining the daily breakfast bar. Must perform the job with professionalism in a positive and friendly manner.
Essential Task/Functions:
- Assist guests with any special needs and always make guests the 1st priority.
- Maintains the food and beverage products on the breakfast bar and prepares food daily.
- Assists in shuttle runs and guest service deliveries to guest rooms.
- Cleaning and organizing of the breakfast servicing area and kitchen area to adhere to health and safety requirements. Cleanliness is a key component of the job.
- May require ordering of items daily or weekly to stock breakfast offerings.
- Provide guests with information on property and area attractions (restaurants, nightspots, recreation, churches, shopping, medical facilities, etc.)
- Understands and offers frequent stay programs for both the Hotel brand program and the Wisco Hotel Group program.
- Handles and resolves guest complaints promptly.
- Demonstrates good communication skills.
- Performs basic math and uses a calculator.
- Promptly reports to the Manager, all incidents or occurrences of an unusual nature that could result in potential loss, damage, injury, or other liability to individuals or company property.
- Attends all department meetings.
- Knows all emergency and safety procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.
- Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the serving and kitchen area, lobby, and back office.
- Follow up on guest requests and daily callbacks to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Reports all damaged or dangerous furniture, fixtures, and carpet on the maintenance request form.
- Carries out all company policies and procedures for safety and security.
- Report any injuries.
- Report all lost and found items to the supervisor or front desk staff.
- Job Requirements:
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Neat & well-groomed appearance.
- Requires finger dexterity, grasping, sitting, standing, walking, writing, bending, repetitive motion, hearing, visual acuity, and carrying up to 25 pounds on a regular and continual basis. Pleasant personality and people skills.
- Flexibility in scheduling.
- Maintaining a high level of quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and organizational skills.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to another shift.
