Position Overview
The Second Shift Lead Mixer Assembly Technician is a key leadership role on the production floor, responsible for supporting the Second Shift Manufacturing Supervisor in executing daily production goals, maintaining quality standards, and driving team performance.
This position combines hands-on assembly expertise with leadership responsibility. The Lead Technician sets the pace for the shift, provides guidance to team members, and ensures that all assemblies are completed safely, efficiently, and to Holcombe’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Production Support
- Assist the Second Shift Manufacturing Supervisor in coordinating daily production activities and meeting weekly assembly targets
- Serve as the primary point of support for assembly technicians during the shift
- Help ensure production goals of 1–1.5 completed mixer assemblies per technician per week are met or exceeded
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to maintain efficiency
- Train, mentor, and support new and existing team members on assembly processes and best practices
- Reinforce company standards for safety, quality, and accountability on the floor
Assembly & Technical Execution
- Assemble and install key mixer components, sub-assemblies, and full volumetric mixer machines per work orders
- Verify part quantities pulled for weekly sub-assembly and assembly orders
- Perform electrical testing of finished mixer machines in the assembly bay
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting in coordination with the Warranty/Quality team
- Complete and sign off on quality checklists for each build
Operations & Safety
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times
- Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and proper equipment use
- Operate forklift as needed to move and stage materials and sub-assemblies
- Support in-house sales order fulfillment to meet delivery timelines
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work onsite in Ault, CO
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and machinery
- Proven ability to follow assembly instructions and maintain quality standards
- Demonstrated leadership ability or readiness to step into a leadership role
- Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
- Leadership experience
Preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing or equipment assembly
- Prior leadership, lead, or mentoring experience in a production environment
- Forklift certification or experience
- Working knowledge of 12V electrical systems
- Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in mechanical or electrical fields
Physical Conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Ability to safely operate tools, machinery, and material handling equipment
What We Offer
Compensation & Schedule
- Competitive hourly wage: $26.00 – $31.50 per hour (with $1.50 shift differential), based on experience
- Full-time schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday (no weekends)
- Second shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
