What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator/Welder position at Hoffmann, Inc?
Silver Hawk uses solid core and dual-shielded flux core wires in a mig welder to fabricate silo openings, platforms, and ladders. These welding processes are also used to fabricate sand and gravel dredges, truck dumpers, and a barrage of varying steel products that you may see every day. Silver Hawk has fabricated assemblies in all of Muscatine’s larger corporations, like Bayer, GPC, and Hon. With having our own engineering and drafting departments on staff, our abilities are only limited by the space we have and if you look outside, you can see that there is plenty of space on our 24-acre campus
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work with hands and weld skillfully, and accurately read blueprints. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate products.
· Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, grinders and other welding hand tools.
· Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
· Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
· Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
· Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
· Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
· Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff.
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
· Minimum 5 years or more of welding and fabrication experience.
· Ability to read and interpret complex blue prints.
· Ability to fabricate, troubleshoot welding and layout.
· Strong problem-solving skills required.
· Must be able to receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions, as well as the ability to communicate and interact with others effectively.
· Excellent work ethic and strong attention to detail required.
· Maintain a positive attitude and spirit of cooperation with coworkers & customers.
· Maintain a positive attitude toward Hoffmann, Inc. both in person and through any social media platforms.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
· Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
· Walking, standing, kneeling
· Must be able to work additional hours over 40 and periodically work weekends as assigned.
· Exposure to construction and industrial conditions, outdoor elements

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
