Role Purpose
The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the Family Office serving a multi-generational ownership family with interests in an automotive dealership group and related real estate investments. This includes all real estate entities, charitable foundations, certain trusts and members of the family. This role is responsible for executing legal, compliance, leases and core accounting processes in the real estate portfolio, maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities, and supporting financial reporting and cash management activities. The position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, organization, and timely processing within a highly confidential family office environment. Also, ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of accounting policies, practices and procedures within the family office.
Core Accountabilities
- Oversees, handles, and manages all accounting functions of the real estate portfolio and charitable foundations.
- Manages legal, compliance and lease agreements within the real estate portfolio.
- Record and maintain financial transactions for family office entities, LLCs, Trusts, certain individuals and related accounts
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end, year-end and tax close processes
- Monitor account activity and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and enter bank deposits daily
- Monitor cash balances across accounts
- Assist with transfers and payment execution under established controls
- Support liquidity tracking and reporting requests
- Assist in preparation of financial summaries, balance sheets and reporting packages
- Compile documentation for internal reporting and external advisors
- Maintain organized electronic filing systems for financial records
- Organize financial records required for tax preparation
- Coordinate information requests from CPAs and advisors
- Maintain compliance calendars for filings and renewals
- Process invoices, reimbursements, and recurring payments for real estate, trusts, Foundations and family members
- Maintain vendor records and payment schedules
- Assist with credit card reconciliation and expense tracking
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to maintain efficient and effective services.
- Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal guidelines and policies to protect the business and its employees.
Competencies and Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ work experience with accounting functions and responsibilities.
- Experience managing multiple entities or complex account structures preferred
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks accounting software
- Experience working with confidential financial information
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of organization and documentation discipline
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
