This is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Hartford, CT. The Senior Accountant will oversee the organization's financial transactions, prepare financial statements, manage budgets, and coordinate audits. Responsibilities will also include ensuring compliance with financial regulations, reconciling accounts, performing analyses, and collaborating with program leaders to align financial practices with organizational goals.
- Proficiency in general accounting practices, including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements
- Experience with budgeting, planning, and analysis
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, audit coordination, and knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ethical financial stewardship
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced certification is a plus
- Prior experience in nonprofit accounting or public accounting preferred
