Role Description:
The Interior Designer & Client Experience Coordinator plays a key role in guiding clients through the design process for exterior and interior fixtures and finishes, whether for renovation or new construction projects. This role is responsible for selecting design direction for spec homes, presenting design options, obtaining approvals from either management or clients, managing selections, and coordinating the procurement and installation process with vendors and project managers. Additionally, the Design Coordinator is responsible for utilities and permitting functions for construction projects and ensures that all aspects of the design phase are completed on time and within budget.

Job Duties:
- Oversee the full life cycle of design projects, from concept to completion, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through design decisions and selections, and providing regular updates on progress.
- Serve as a liaison between the design team, other internal departments, clients, and external vendors to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets are adhered to.
- Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring they meet company standards and client expectations.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including design briefs, schedules, budgets, and reports for internal and client use.
- Prepare and present design proposals, including floor plans, elevations, material layouts, and design visualizations, tailored to client needs.
- Produce and revise CAD drawings and floor plans to support design proposals and client presentations.
- Identify and address any challenges or roadblocks during the design phase, ensuring projects stay on track.
- Obtain vendor bids, quotes, and adjustments as needed; oversee vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Create design presentations and marketing materials to support business development initiatives.
- Handle permitting functions for construction projects as required.
- Assist the Pre-construction manager with obtaining vendor bids, quotes, and adjustments as needed.

Requirements & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in budget management and expense tracking.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- 1-2 years of experience producing CAD drawings (AutoCAD or comparable software)
Preferred Requirements & Experience:
- 3-5 years of interior design experience, preferably at a design-build firm, custom home builder, or within the renovation/construction industry
- 2-3 years of project management experience.
- Familiarity with additional design software beyond AutoCAD (e.g. Chief Architect, SketchUp, or similar)

- Sources and coordinates custom materials, specialty products, and artisan-crafted elements while balancing design intent, constructability, project schedules, and established budgets.
- Produces highly detailed finish schedules, elevations, specifications, and design documentation that support seamless execution in the field with minimal ambiguity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and presentation tools.
- Professional presentation skills, with the ability to create and deliver engaging proposals to clients.
Type of Work/Expected Hours of Work:
- This position generally works Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
- The work is primarily administrative in nature.
Travel Requirements:
15% daily local travel required.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based, with occasional work in the field at vendor and client locations.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, and using hands for extended periods while performing office, computer, and client-facing work.
