LOAN OFFICER
This position is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, and coordinating the closing of loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies, procedures, and related laws and regulations; engages in business development opportunities; develops good customer relationships; and markets and cross sells other banking products. Other duties may be assigned.
Interview applicants and determine their needs and the best loan product and structure.- Gather pertinent information for loan application.
- Analyze applicants financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation.
- Resolve uncertainties relating to customer application information through inquiries with applicant or creditors.
- Communicate loan status regularly with customers and respond promptly to their inquiries.
- Approve loans within specified limits or refer loans to loan committee for approval.
- Compile loan package and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
- .Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Conduct loan closings. Assuring timeliness of closing and funding activities.
- .Review, track, and request current financials from commercial loan customers.
- Monitor performance of loans. Notify or locate customers with delinquent accounts and attempt to secure payment. Initiate foreclosure or repossession actions when necessary.
- Identify and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.
- Promote and cross-sell other establishment products and services such as internet banking, cashier’s checks, and trust and investment services.
- Participate in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and continually identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new lending opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior lending experience is required.
