Hive Co has a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Canonsburg, PA for a Senior Enterprise Architect. The Enterprise Architect provides enterprise-wide architecture leadership, partnering closely with application development, infrastructure, security, data & analytics, and PMO teams. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, this role is responsible for defining the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, standards, and multi-year transformation roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
This architect acts as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership—translating business needs into target-state architectures, guiding technology investment decisions, and ensuring consistency, reuse, and scalability across the enterprise.
Work Location
- Hybrid: On-site Tuesday–Thursday
- Must reside in or near: Columbus, OH; Merrillville, IN; or Canonsburg, PA
Key Responsibilities
- Set and govern enterprise architecture direction, standards, and priorities
- Translate business strategy into architecture roadmaps and target-state designs
- Partner with business, product, and engineering leaders on complex initiatives
- Review and guide solution designs, evaluating risks, costs, and enterprise impact
- Lead architecture governance processes (Architecture Review Boards, standards, exceptions)
- Serve as a thought leader for modern architecture, cloud transformation, and API-first design
- Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative, value-driven solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 7 years of enterprise architecture experience across one or more domains (cloud, infrastructure, application, security, data)
- Strong experience with cloud and enterprise platforms (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Cisco, VMware, ServiceNow, MuleSoft, Palo Alto, Equinix)
- Deep understanding of API-first architecture and modern cloud capabilities
- Broad technical knowledge across application, data, infrastructure, and security domains
- Strong consultative and stakeholder-influencing skills
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks and tools (TOGAF, ITIL, LeanIX)
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead without direct authority
