Unit Details
- 21-bed Emergency Department 6-bed annex
- Treats patients of all ages
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Tech-to-patient ratio: 1:8
- First-time travelers welcome
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC/TNS
- CPI or MOAB
Required Skills
- Strong critical care skill set
- Ability to care for patients across all age groups
- Experience in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
Support Staff
- Charge nurse with reduced patient assignment
- 24/7 in-house Hospitalist and ED Physician coverage
- HUC support available 24/7
- Phlebotomy assistance for peripheral blood draws
- Nursing station telemetry monitoring
Technology
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
- Monitoring Equipment: GE Monitors
Scheduling
- Weekend rotation: 1 weekend per month
- No call required
- No holiday requirement
- Up to 7 days of approved time off
- Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow
